Original Fake started a few years ago when artist KAWS teamed up with Medicom Toy to create a brand and flagship store. The designs of the clothes are largely based on KAWS’ popular artwork like these two new t-shirts that have just been released at Original Fake retailers around the world. New tees include the Original Fake Companion t-shirt and the Fake Apple t-shirt. You can pick them up at We Sold Out!

Destroy 2008 Spring Collection

markj | | 1:10 pm

Source: Hypebeast

destroy-2008-spring-01.jpg

Conceived half a decade ago in New York City, Destroy relocated shop in Portland back in 2006. The brand name was inspired in part by Picasso’s belief that creation requires an act of destruction. From there on in, their retail location and gallery allowed for some interesting team ups along the way. Their 2008 Spring collection includes designs such as the Beautiful Thief, Where We Be, Make It Rain, Beautiful Thief Varsity and Bird is the Word by Charlie Kraft.

The Decapitator - Londonpaper hijack at Old Street Tube Station 30th Jan 2008

markj | February 4, 2008 | 2:17 am

The Decapitator strikes back

The Decapitator has been popping up a lot recently with some static work, but found this video on Youtube and it’s utter genius! Not only have they hi-jacked the big Motorola ad on the back page, but they’ve then gone and handed out the papers and then got them back into the distributors trolley and made them hand them out aswell! Class act.

The Decapitator was also featured on Wire blog last week, with an explantion about what was going on:”Renegade artist and head-hunter the Decapitator has been bombarding the streets of London with a signature style of graffiti tag - eerily removing the heads from major adverts around town, replacing them with ghastly, gory stumps.”

I can’t find a lot else about this emerging artist, but here’s a photoset on Flickr The Guardian also had something to say…

Concrete Hermit Shop

markj | February 2, 2008 | 7:21 pm

“Punk is an attitude not an aesthetic”

Since 2004 Concrete Hermit has worked with selected artists, building its reputation by producing a range of graphically lead products including books, T-shirts and badges.

We decided to create a platform that promoted interesting work fairly and with respect for both the artist and the buyer. We enjoy working with diverse groups of people to produce good, interesting, unusual stuff. We try not to be lead by fashions or markets, although we are making products for consumers - we’re putting creations out there to be consumed.

We’re no longer sure what real is but we’ll do our best to keep it real - We are post-neo-old-skool.

Check out the shop for some ace tees and pin badges!
