ARTCOTIC is a new website that collaborates with artists, filmmakers, and musicians; fostering innovative partnerships with some of the most influential low-brow and high-concept minds in the independent music and underground art world with limited edition apparel. Site visitors will be pleased to see designs from underground and poster artists well represented by the likes of Frank Kozik, Liz McGrath, James “Dalek” Marshall, Supakitch, Koralie, Drew Millward, Richt and Todd Slater.

Each month there are open submissions where artists are invited to submit designs in three designated themes in Artcotic’s Collaborate section. At the end of each month one design will be chosen from each theme, produced and featured to sell in the Artcotic store. The designs will be produced in limited edition runs of 500 or fewer pieces printed on Artcotic’s exclusive custom-crafted garments. Once the run is sold out, the design is retired, never to return. To foster a steady flow of submissions, Artcotic offers an attractive compensation package, Artcotic garments with their design, and a featured artist profile on the site, creating a partnership which offers international exposure and affiliation with other top artistic minds.

In addition to the limited edition apparel, Artcotic‘s website will profile innovative filmmakers, artists and independent musicians, providing exposure in the Showcase and Turntable sections with interviews, exclusive art, limited edition apparel and MP3’s. Featured monthly bands such as Liz McGrath’s band Miss Derringer will be highlighted in the January 1st launch and Pinback who will be featured the following month. The initial Showcase feature will focus on Steve Niles and Bill Sienkiewicz (creators of the new comic book “The Sinner”). Director David Slade (Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night) will be highlighted in February.

Artcotic is primarily a member based site, but allows all site visitors to explore the Showcase, Turntable and Artist Profile areas. Artcotic members however, will receive unique benefits which include the opportunity to preview and purchase new designs before they are in wide release, monthly newsletters and updates, and be able to communicate directly with some of their favorite artists, both in the collaborative stage of each month’s new designs and through exclusive access to artist profiles.

$29.95 (roughly £15) for a limited edition tee of 500 with some superb designs, can’t be bad can it! Dig into that wallet of yours now and visit the store
