Co7 Tshirts

markj | May 13, 2008 | 9:56 pm

Co7 is a new design driven apparel label working with a collective of riders, artists, designers and musicians.

Co7 believes in promoting the work of young visionaries who are pushing the boundaries; whether it being in their sport, art or simply a new way of thinking. With its roots in Graphic design, music and boardsports, Co7 is at home on the shelves of boutiques and galleries as it is on those of your local surf and skate shop. Because Co7 is always on the look out, searching for the latest in design we are producing some of the most unique and best-designed T-shirts to the market.

Each T-shirt is one of a limited edition print run of only 500. Co7 feel it is our duty to do what we can to look after our Planet. Where as the typical cotton t-shirt uses about 150 grams of acutely toxic pesticides and insecticides; that’s the size of a cup of sugar. Co7’s uses none. We are proud of the fact that we only use quality organic garments from fair trade Indian cotton in all our production. In a time where most people are far more concerned with the design of their garments that the brand name on the front of it. Co7 produces unique T-shirts designed by some of the most exciting and innovative artists ranging from the established to the next big thing.

The tees are looking amazing, and really soft quality fabric, certainly a brand to keep a very close eye on for new developments in the future - Check the shirts and more at the site

Turtlehead Tshirts

markj | May 10, 2008 | 9:49 am

Turtlehead are a collective based in Ireland with one eye on the establishment, another on the subversive and another on stuff we like. Their goal is not to bring down corporations or presidents, it’s to show that they care. They are not about saving rain-forests or puppies, but if they can help we will.

Their designs are part social commentary, part public art, part rant, part up theirs and part down with this sort of thing. Everything is limited to 500 pieces and all their t-shirts are printed in Ireland on ethically made and environmentally friendly 100% cotton tshirts.

Contributing artists include: David Shrigley, Will St Leger, Chris Judge, Dave Comiskey, Keith Walsh, Chris Haughton, Laurina Paperina, Adam Cruickshank, Frankenstyles, Marc Johns

Check out the tees in the shop over here

Paste Tshirts from Brooklyn, NYC

markj | May 8, 2008 | 10:59 pm

Paste, Jason Laurits’s graphic t-shirt line, associates itself not only with indie fashion, but with art, culture, and humor. Paste uses both silkscreen and foil on enzyme-washed tees with the perfect vintage cut and feel. All t-shirts are made in the USA and hand-printed in Brooklyn, New York.

A bit about the history of Jason and the brand:

While pursuing a career in music in his early 20s, Jason Laurits taught himself how to silkscreen for posters and t-shirts to promote his shows around NYC. His music, a mixture of rock and electronica, eventually took him to London where, to help fund his recordings, he used silkscreen to create one-of-a-kind t-shirts and successfully sold them at indie fashion markets.

Eventually deciding to take a break from music, Laurits returned to NYC and attended the new school for writing, During this time he continued to sell his silkscreened tees, slowly growing a fan base. By the time he finished school the now-name line, plaster, was doing well enough for Laurits to put all his energy into developing it further. Soon, Plaster unfolded into a full contemporary men’s line.

As the focus for Plaster began to stray away from silkscreens altogether, Laurits started a new line, Paste, devoted to graphic tees. With the indie, abstract, cooler-than-thou tshirt market becoming oversaturated, Laurits decided Paste would take itself less seriously, be a little more fun(nier), and priced at a more moderate level for artistic tees.

Currently, both Plaster and Paste have made it into progressive boutiques across the USA, as well as Japan, with the European market on the horizon.

Bad Brains x Supreme

markj | May 6, 2008 | 9:27 pm

Bad Brains is an American Hardcore punk band formed in Washington, D.C. in 1977. Highly regarded as being among the pioneers of hardcore punk, though Bad Brains themselves have objected to the term “hardcore” to describe their music.
Bad Brains has had a major influence on skate culture, therefore it was only natural for Supreme to join the band to produce a small capsule collection. Supreme have released a Vans Sk-8 HI in three colorways, harrington jacket, and two t-shirts.

Big thanks to Marcus for letting me take the shot!
