Electronic Poet Techno Tree Tshirt

Posted on | July 14, 2008 |

Music-mad illustrator Si Scott and music-inspired Menswear brand Electronic Poet have teamed up to release this unique t-shirt for the Autumn Winter Season.

The Techno Tree Tee

This exclusive t-shirt is in line with Electronic Poet’s tradition of blending its fashion, art & science of music inspirations. Based on a traditional Family Tree it’s hand drawn by hip illustrator Si Scott with the help of DJ and music journalist Ed Karney. It shows how electronic music evolved, from cult pioneers Kraftwerk to today’s minimal heroes Matthew Dear and Luciano. The structure of the tree takes the form of stylized electronic wires and the result is totally unique and beautiful; the original artwork, ink on paper, was actually 1.5m in height before being reduced in size for the actually t-shirt design.
Electronic Poet will be launching in Selfridges stores across the country in August. Each event will include a live drawing of the tree by Si Scott himself.  The launches are sponsored by Pioneer and will include world famous guest dj’s such as Paul Woolford and the Unabombers. Upon purchasing an Electronic Poet piece of clothing you will receive complimentary guest list to selected club nights and be entered into a draw to win a pair of signed Pioneer CDJ1000’s.

The dates of the Selfridges launches will be as follows:
London - Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd August
Birmingham - Saturday 23rd August
Manchester - Saturday 9th August

Though it’s a beautiful t-shirt about a subject I hold dear to my heart, not sure I agree with some of the artists and their positions. That though, is what makes me a complete and total geek anyway. I think I’d still buy it.
