Introducing Cameesa
Posted on | September 17, 2008 |

We had an email from Kamil at Cameesa today who gave us a brief intro to Cameesa.com and what they’re up to. Theu were recently in TIME Magazine. They are following the “Crowdfunding” model that some sites have been using.
Cameesa is basically a site, similar to Threadless where users vote on tshirt designs to then be printed. One difference though, in comparison to Threadless, is that users must also put cash up to have a design printed. If the tshirt successfully has 50 people donate cash, it then gets printed, the designer gets a $500 prize, one tee and earn $2 on each shirt sold of their design.
Supporters, in turn, also gain - receiving one free shirt and earning on every shirt sold.
You can find out more, and browse the small selection of shirts available on the site. New ones are bound to come VERY soon - as there’s a whole host of shirts already being voted on. Get voting, and get donating.
