Paul Jacober is a unique apparel line created by well known graphic designer Paul Jacober whose mission is to recover Miami Beach Cool. Clearly distinctive, the shirts have a vintage undertone mixed with an urban sensibility without being aged or washed out.

“The great thing about these shirts is that it is the first REAL fashion-take on what some could consider a souvenir shirt,” said Paul. “The reason being is that the shirts represent innovative and imaginative designs on an upscale quality of shirt. All these details strategically thought out allow the shirt to easily transition from daytime wear to nighttime hip.”

The latest collection of Paul Jacober tees is called ‘Nevermind The Roses’. A tongue-in-cheek excuse to play with the British imagery craze that has overtaken the states. The graphics include union jacks mixed with different iconic imagery such as deers (for all the deer hunting Brits), Roosters, a Grace Jones homage, spilled and broken Toile patterns and fancy chandeliers. This collection steers clear of any frills and aims for a darker, sophisticated and crisp cool look.

“My designs work perfectly on garments,” said Paul. “Creating cool attire is just a natural extension of my specialty- great design.”

Paul Jacober graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu before studying abroad in London. Paul has worked with various New York institutions; the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Vibe Magazine, and Museums New York Magazine. In 2000, Paul started Jacober + Associates, a design and advertising company. Some clients have included The Rubell Hotels and Rubell Family Art Collection, Mark Soyka Restaurants/Properties, and Base Clothing Store on Lincoln Road.

“I’ve been fortunate to live and work in four large Metropolitan cities like Los Angeles, London, New York and Miami,” Paul explains. “All of which have helped shape my design aesthetic and opened my eyes to different clothing styles and ideas.”

The shirts retail between $42-68 and are available at various boutiques, online stores and at www.pauljacober.com

The Decapitator has been popping up a lot recently with some static work, but found this video on Youtube and it’s utter genius! Not only have they hi-jacked the big Motorola ad on the back page, but they’ve then gone and handed out the papers and then got them back into the distributors trolley and made them hand them out aswell! Class act.

The Decapitator was also featured on Wire blog last week, with an explantion about what was going on:”Renegade artist and head-hunter the Decapitator has been bombarding the streets of London with a signature style of graffiti tag – eerily removing the heads from major adverts around town, replacing them with ghastly, gory stumps.”

I can’t find a lot else about this emerging artist, but here’s a photoset on Flickr The Guardian also had something to say…

Slightly off topic, but I NEED some tshirts or artwork by this goddess!

I LOVE Miss Van, so much so, that I am always on the lookout for places to buy ANYTHING that is out there. BUT, and this is a big but, there isn’t anything. I have spent many an hour to get any actual real life articles from this superb artist, but to no avail. I’ve looked high and low, and yet to find anything of interest?

Can anyone offer any help? Someone out there must know something?
